Rubber examination gloves are made out of different types
of materials, including latex-free nitrile gloves, depending upon how they will
be used. Medical professionals need examination gloves which are easy to put
on, as well as will fit their hands comfortably. Using a glove that is too
small can allow it to break easily, and using a glove that is too large can
result in not being able to properly conduct an exam or handle medical
equipment.
Nitrile Gloves
Are Used on People Allergic to Latex
Nitrile gloves were developed for people that are
allergic to latex. While the number of people allergic to latex is relatively
small, it was not previously well known that people could have a reaction when
exposed to this type of material. As with most allergies, reactions will vary
from person to person, and case to case. Some people may only develop hives
while others can have a serious medical reaction.
